Game artwork

File sizes, animation, and download options for your game library.

Choose artwork to match the space your launcher provides, from a small icon to a wide hero image.

A game set holds one image of each type. A static and animated cover occupy the same position, so you choose one or the other.

Dimensions are width × height. Logos have no special dimension rule.

All game artwork types except icons accept animated WebP. Keep the animation to 300 frames and 10 seconds or less, and within the limits above. Dimensions apply to the full frame. Base Art and artwork for shows and movies stay static.

Choose a still frame during upload. You can use Change preview frame later to choose another without replacing the animation.

The animation setting offers Automatic, On, and Off. Automatic follows your device’s reduced-motion preference. The choice stays in this browser and works without signing in; individual images also have playback controls. It does not change downloaded files or your launcher’s settings.

Original downloads the uploaded file, including any animation. Game icons may also offer ICO, a static file with several icon sizes. If the upload was already an ICO, its original retains the sizes it contains.

Use Download assets on a set to select several files for a ZIP. Extract it before applying the artwork. Launchers differ in the types and formats they accept; follow Game artwork downloads and Steam for application steps. Renaming an extension does not convert a file.
